Danni's Funeral Pyre April 18, 2003 * Note: This archive started long before the actually burning of the pyre and I'm sorry to say, I stopped archiving shortly before the events of Gage's death. Ivy Thomas: Steel> I do think the totem rat would honor any who honor her albeit they are in a different tribe....it is also up to all of you to decide as well * she finishes what she is doing and falls silent* Meredith Turner: *Looks to the group around Danni's pyre, as she aproaches. Gently placing it on the pyre. Riley looks at it a moment as though trying to decide to give it up, since it's obviously important to her. But she does, with a soft sigh* Well, Jericho, I passed it on...sorta. *turns to Mitch, rubbing her forehead* I think that should be talked about in private...or after the Gathering, take yer pick. The first time I ever went into battle... I was still a cub. I'd only been here a few weeks, only been shifted slightly longer than that. But I fought, even though I was scared to death, beside Danni-rhya, and Grandpoppa David. I've always been proud to say that. When we were done, Danni-rhya told me I'd done a good job. And at that moment, I was actually proud to be Garou. The first time I ever really talked to her, I was healing her after a fight with one of my packmates. Afterwards, we really didn't speak much, and then she became Grand Elder. We didn't have the best relationship, I distinctly recall her decking me on one occasion. What kept us from fighting more often then we did, I believe, is due to a mutual respect and recognition for what we could do. Knowing that working together as much as we could, we would be greater then either of us could be as seperate individuals. She was not perfect, far from it. But she kept us together in our darkest hour, providing leadership when it was needed most. She was honest with herself, knowing that her time here was finite, and planning for an Ahrouns' end. As befitting her rank and station, she bore a great load for the rest of us.
